Roll bar stays for GRP rear tub

Hi

Can someone please tell me where the roll bar stays attach to the chassis when using the Saturn GRP tub?

To the rear most part of the oblong box created by the frame,I added two pieces of 25x25 and two pieces of flat plate to mount the bar on in the corners and use two bolts either side.

Ok thanks Flyerncle

Am I right in saying by oblong box you mean the box made of 2 pieces of 25mm box joined together, rear suspension frame?

Yes,the very last part of the chassis the box where the tank would go.
I put plates either side sat on two bits of 25x25 welded inside the rear box for the plates to sit on.

Hope this makes sense.

This is how I did mine, very similar in the way Flyerncle has described,

I used 3mm plate to bridge the end of the chassis & as you can see, used 4 bolts with nylocs underneath ( same idea as the upper roll bar mounts ), so the whole roll bar is removable after undoing 16, yes 16 bolts  :D ...if that lot gives way I,m a gonna anyways

excuse the untidy wiring, this pic was taken ages ago.

cheers

Excellent, thanks gents

Know where I am going on this now. I did not use nylocs for the upper rollbar mounts! should I have!

flyerncle 28th March 2011 12:43 PM

Put nylocks on everything with washers either side an ensure you can see at least 3-4 threads, once everything is tightened up and torqued use a car touch up paint and "creep mark " the nuts it looks good for the man from IVA.

Attention to detail will go a long way.
