sand blaster!

Hi guys, I'm sure some of you have or may have used one of these. Have borrowed a bench top unit from friend and using a compessor 2hp, 7 cfm but does not pick up any sand. Do these need a much bigger compressor to work?
any help welcome,
cheers
tony

I have a home made cabinet and believe me ....any form of 'blaster' is the hungriest beast of air driven tooling I use a comp with a delivery of 14 cfm and it only just manages to keep up.....so I would say you need at least that but you really need a BIG receiver 200litres minimum or you will find the comp will be running continuously (it won't last very long like that)

The grit needs to be very dry as any moisture will cause it to stick together and clogg every thing up, you should also drain the compressor tank and use a water trap.

You need a huge air supply to run a blast cabinet effectively.

Anybody in the South Wales area needs anything blasted, give me a shout, i have 4 big machines in work that will blast just about anything.
