Changing the chassis to a left hand driver

Hello everybody,
I'm new on this forum, and I've been looking for a post talking about my problem before posting that, but I haven't really found what I wanted.
I'm building a Haynes roadster (Chris Gibbs book). I want to make a left steering wheel chassis, as I'm living in Sweden (and, on top of it, I'm French !) If I build the chassis as it is described in the book, the room in what is the passenger side will be to small to fit a pedal box for the driver. My idea is to reverse all the non-symmetrical tubes, which means the transmission tunnel, U7 and U8. But my concern is : will the gearbox fit with such a change ? I will use a 5 gear T9 gearbox from a 2.0i Sierra, but I don't have it yet, so I can't make any try. I guess the gear box is perfectly symmetrical and centred, so it should not be any problem, but could anybody please confirm I can do that ?
I'm sure some of you are not in a country where people drive on the left side of the road and might have had to adapt the chassis design to make a left hand driver car.
I have to start the building of my transmission tunnel now, so I want to be sure.
Thanks to all of you.

Yes you are correct the gear box sits in the centre of the chassis just swap all the TT tubes from one side to the other. Left hand drive sierra's have the starter motor and clutch fork on the other side of the bell housing compared to right hand drive cars.

Hi there, have a look at this link, I will be building mine LHD with a 2.0i and T9 gearbox, not started yet just collecting parts but I have got the sierra.

No real drama as far as the chassis goes but I would imagine the steering will create some head scratch moments with things like exhausts in the way..
