Progress

I hav actually managed to get down to my work shop and make some progress over the last week :)

I now have both ally sides bonded on, and allof the hard brake lines in, justy need to get a master cylinder to finish them off

Hi James,
great progress, i've noticed that you have box instead of shocks i was wondering as i'm not in a position yet to buy shocks could you tell me the oveall size of your box and centre to centre.

Cheers
Dean

I did start of with lumps of wood as dummy shocks but they are slowly getting replaced by 25 x 25 box section as they break.

I just drilled 2 x 1/2" holes in it about 12" apart and trimmed it just after the hole so I would guess they were about 13" long.

Ive done much the same this weekend as in actually made some progress you car is looking very nice there m8 how did you find making the side panels ? Not sure to go ally or fglass think ally will work out cheaper

james3004 18th July 2011 03:11 PM

If I was to do it again I would use fibreglass sides, it was a pain to bend the folds on the front, I'm glad I'm painting them so I can fill the imperfections

I was told not to use the brake line bracket on the chassis upright, but to put a bulkhead fitting in th side panel as the former is an IVA fail. Looking good though.

I would have thought that having a bulkhead fitting on the bracket would be more secure than having one on the side panel:confused:
