Hi all after my baptism of fire on here the other day lol thought i would tell you my progress so far

Welcome to the forum

Hi Mgglep

Let me be the first to extend you a very warm welcome to the forum :)

Sounds like you are off to a great start

As for building in a single garage, I quite agree with you, don't think I could cope with building a entire Roadster from scratch in such a confined space.

That said plenty of folk manage perferctly well with not a lot of room to work.
Horses for courses & all that, to quote Austin Powers " It's not my bag baby " :D

Perhaps you will be able to post a few pictures of your progress, we all love piccys.

It may be worthwhile puting a rough location in your profile, may well come in handy if you ever need some local assistance ;)

You havn't mentioned if you are building for track or road but if memory serves me right I think you may have a probem with the fly off type hydraulic handbrake when it comes to the IVA test for a road going car !!??

Enjoy the forum

I was thinking the same,

Anyway sound like a flying start, I bought a second hand built chassis to save time and effort. Kind of backfired as there were a number of issues with it, but they got sorted (it was done for me).

I have a rather large but cluttered garage.

Me too Rob

What with it being stuffed to the rafters with equipment & me being such an untidy beggar, I dread to think how I would cope with a single

Talking about being untidy, had a good tidy up before I resumed my build last week & within 2 days I cant get in the door without tripping over something :o :o

You is right Ronnie, mechanical hand brake system for the road and no fly off.
Out of interest to you there are proposals for a lot of inclusions to the mot test next year, did not fully read it so wont quote it but wil have a good look and post it.

fly off

yeah thought about that i am still going to use the cable brakes going to put the vertical hydrulic near the gear shift i need to look into if that would be ok if not i will install it then remove it for IVA then refit after it passes
