Handbrake cables touching chassis rail
Hi all,
I stuck a plate in my chassis the other day to hold the ends of my handbrake cable sleeves. I didn't think too far ahead... and the handbrake cables are pushed up against one of the seat back rails as they exit the tunnel. Am I right in thinking Mr IVA Man isn't going to be too keen on them rubbing against the chassis? ![]() |
mine are like that and passed fine

They're not likely to move or chaff are they?

Just thought I'd bring some closure to this one.
I know you both said it was probably ok, but I just wasn't happy and had to change it. Not just because of the cables touching the rail, but also because the plate itself bowed significantly when I applied the handbrake, and would have got in the way of where I want to bring the brake and fuel pipes through the tunnel. Here's what it looks like now, and this time I checked the cables wouldn't touch the rail before I welded it in place! ![]() |
is that a Jackson headstock i see in the back ;)

I really must tidy my garage! I bought that particular guitar off my brother-in-law, who claimed some rubbish about it being an Ibanez Destroyer with a Gibson (or was it Jackson?) neck or something. It's the same shape as a Destroyer, but I suspect it's some cheap far-eastern jobbie. Whatever it is, it plays and sounds like cr&p which is partly why it ended up in the garage collecting dust! |
