Engine/Transmission Recommendation

Hi All,

Looking into getting a kit off the floor, but the thing I really want to know is what would you recommend for engine/trans set up! really all just go for it.

Cheers

Surely the most basic setup is the pinto engine and type 9 gearbox is the ideal place to start, then ANYTHING is possible.
Usually depends on your knowledge, time, money and determination to find a way of fitting what you want.

Pre 95 engines are better for emissions and pre 92 engines don't need a catalytic convertor.

Most people fit the doner engine first and change later, cause its easier for IVA regs and registration purposes.

Guys, have i missed anything?
