What exhaust?
Going to start looking at the exhaust side of the engine and have no idea what I should be looking for. Bike exhaust would be the cheapest and best looking option I think as there's a load of standard cans available.
Which one though? I remember reading somewhere that it was all to do with revs and not so much capacity of the engine that mattered. Would a 1000cc+ bike exhaust be ok for my 2L zetec? |
Got a westfield one on mine, see the build thread. Your welcome to pop over and have a look at it in the flesh.
Not sure how good a bike can would be as they will be tuned to dampen the higher frequencies compared to a lower frequency car engine. TT |
CBS do some silencers not badly priced;
http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/category/...m_Parts,b.html Got mine from RAW but their website is not very good now. Europa do some stuff not badly priced; https://www.europaspares.com/22/EXHAUST_SYSTEM.html |
ya i was thinking about using one of the cherry bombs from europa as they sound like just the thing for a bike carb converted engine and I'm not fussed on having stainless to begin with

But, are they not a loud exhaust? me,s thinking IVA noise test etc being quite strict..............just a thought :) cheers andy |
Oh right I've probly mis-interpreted the description as I thought it made loud engines quite, especially performance engines?
|
The CBS exhausts look nice but at over £230 for the just the silencer look quite pricey. I thought there might have been a cheaper option.
|
I could have sworn some people on here where using R1 bike cans?
|
Nothing wrong with cherry bombs other than the have a lousy finish. Ok under a car but if you intend using one probably best to strip the finish they come with and give them a coat of vht paint. Noise level is ok if sized properly.
