been working like crazy
Hi guys,
Im finally getting there, iv worked every night after work this week to get the bodywork finished, my massive pile of bits is starting to become a roadster! Its all coming off tommorow to be bubble wrapped and stored in the shed whist i strip the chassis down and sort a few bits out such as radiator brackets and a few crappy welds. Im gonna have the final fit of the engine on sunday and then work on the reverse gear. Once thats sorted its all going back together, plumbing the brakes and wiring in as i go. Iv still got a massive list of jobs and stuff to get, but at least its coming together now and iv finally got something to be proud of... Im aiming for it to be at least track day ready by the end of october Nathan ![]() |

Getting the car to this stage is a huge turning point. I like the steering bearing support, I have used this type before http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UCP-NP-MET...em7 46b5ad62f a touch on the industrial side but trouble free forever.

cheers guys,
been even busier today, one step forward two steps back:rolleyes: .......... ![]() I really want to get the engine mounted up nice and square, but because iv not got a hoist im thinking of investing in a block and tackle and make a rail system with an rsj in the garage roof. I pulled my back this afternoon lifting the chassis onto the table, i dont know how i got it up there but i got it up there! I intend to build the whole car on the table now, so it might be a good idea for getting it down! cheers, nathan |
I would invest in a crane.

second that !
ive built two cars now with a block and tackle style scaffolding affair ! its a pain in the bum having to jiggle a chassis or subframe ! think your back hurts now do the hokey cokey with an engine a few times. buy the engine crane ! or find a few freinds to go halves with like im doing in the next few weeks when machine mart have the vat free week ! final fitted mine last weekend with the block and takle and then fitted an rs turbo we just rebuilt into my mates fezza with a crane the crane was quicker and less hassle by far. and with the rsj and lifting kit youll not be far off the £130 they sell them for on ebay new ! |
I guess you right, il have a look in machine mart next time im in, trouble is i go in for one thing and come out with a trolley full:D
