hi , i have just bought a rover v8 from range rover it came complete with manual lt77 plus transfer box, my question is can this transfer box be removed to create a normal sd1 style lt77 box

No, its to much of a ballache, also the speedo drive is in the transfer box so its a non starter really.

But the good news is they are worth enough to flog and get the proper job, if you can get the r380 version its a bit tougher with bigger bearings.
