headlamp brackets

anyone got any offcuts of oval tube and 45 dia tube for making the headlamp brackets with?

I have found that the old type plastic cheap chairs that are used in canteens etc have oval steel legs which is ideal for the headlight brackets.

Ive just squeezed some round tube like others on here, not turned out so bad!!

I used some oval tube off an old shopping trolley that i retrieved from a ditch.

I even use the castor for build dolly, which is now been used by Baz-r

I just used leftovers from top wishbones, don't see what's the big deal with the oval profile.

i managed to blag myself some tubing today from school. i might try and crush it to oval in the vice but if it looks rubbish then i'll just keep it round.

wouldnt crushing it , weaken it???... just a thought...

BenBrooks 26th June 2012 01:19 PM

i think others have crushed it (or squeezed it gently?). how strong does it need to be really
