Bonnet Stuck

So I tried to open the bonnet on my daily driver this afternoon to fill it up again with fluids and the release level under the steering wheel isn't working anymore :( Any know of a good way to get the bonnet open when its locked shut like that and lever not working?

Whats the car ? i had a Laguna that used to do that all the time could open it with a couple of long screwdrivers from underneath ..

Its a MK1 Renault Scenic. Because the lever to open it still travels completely I'm guessing the cable has probly snapped somewhere? I can see the screwdriver method working, just need to work out where to put em I guess...

Get someone to pull the lever while you thump the bonnet at the front. When it's open put some oil on the catch.

Pull the leaver while you get someone to thump you, when it opens put some light oil on match. then go and buy a non french car..

I know most of aa/rac guys are twats:p but they are shit hot at lockouts. Just remember to tell them to piss off once the bonnets open:eek:

lol... managed to get it open by having the wife pull the lever and then me pulling up on the bonnet. Latch has rusted quite badly now so I've sprayed a load of oil on it which will hopefully sort it out longer term... Annoying though turns out when I put it in the garage to have the clutch done they've forgotten to put the dip stick back in the engine...

I only bought it caz it was cheap at £200 and once you take the back seats out its like having a small van :)
