ummmmmmmmm  , I run a zx9r Haynes. I dont find it tiresome, 30 mph in 6th gear going up hill is no problem. Have you actually been in one Rob, not having a go or anything but most of the people who criticise them havnt actually been in one. Personally i've never known of anyone going from bec to cec (accept Tilly on here), but I've heard of loads of people going the other way.
My car was corner weighted @ 510 kgs with a full tank of fuel. It has a reverse gearbox, standard sierra xr4x4 brakes all round, big heavy car battery and non lightweight wheels. With a bit of work I could easily get the weight under 500 kg.
Current project is fitting the head and pistons off a z1000 engine, taking capacity up to 954cc. Ive also found a homebrew way of advancing the ignition to make the most of higher octane fuel, should be looking @ about 160 bhp. And i bought 2 of these engines for under £800 !
