Trawling Google today I learned my lump in the Volvo is actually a duratec lump.
Readily available for cheap.

Task this week (work permitting) replace engine.

anyone local have an engine hoist?

I have one you can borrow. It works fine but the arm goes down slowly.

Let me know of you want to borrow it. You can keep it for the duration of the build (only need it back early if my engine goes bang)

Saturn MX5 Based Chassis, Limited Slip Diff & 2.4 Quick Rack.

Build cost.... seems to be spending more on tools than car bits at the moment! (they will be handy in the future though).
Car iva'd and passed 15/08/2014. Finished weight 572kg.
