I had an Escort fail on a slight bit of play in the rack a few years back.
I fitted a recon unit & boy did it have some play in it. ( much worse than the original that I had exchanged )

Upon re-test the examiner was going to fail it. I explained that this was a major brand, refurb rack. As such would have been quality tested to meet the prescribed standard.

He went to get the senior tester, he looked at the rack & said it was " Just within limits " WTF. It was dreadfull compared to the original.

When asked why the original had failed he said he could'nt comment as he had not done the original test.

Needles to say, that was the last test they done for me. Their loss, I was doing between 30 - 40 tests per year at that time.
