Its amazing what you can do with a few hours work, a drill and some flap disks. The secret to stripping them is grinding back the surface to expose the spot welds, drill them out and then lever of the sundry bits. A coat of paint and you have some nice runners. I cheated, I strapped them down on the Bridgeport table and milled the top of. It vibrated a bit!
