the talon chassis is a haynes chassis straight from the book with no modifications as far as i am aware. the ron champion book is the old version of the current haynes book

the old locost book utilises an old escort running gear which is like rocking horse poo to get hold of these days. it is also non independent suspension at the rear. there are also known issues with the steering geometry and front suspension.

the new haynes book is a cad drawn chassis that has been modelled for better strength. the rear suspension is independent and there are no issues with bump steer or poor front suspension geometry. it also utilises a sierra donor car, i know they are getting a bit harder to come by but cheep ones can be found, i don't recall anyone on here paying more than £300 for one.
