With the kind help of some fellow forum members
It transpires that I have lost 3/4 Litre of oil capacity during the sump chop.
Given that the original capacity is listed at 4.25 Litres & the difference between Max / Min on the dipstick is aproximately 1 Litre .... In theory the engine will be running with aproximately 1/4 Litre more than if I were running the engine on a standard sump at it's minimum level.
Going to be fitting an oil cooler in any event .... I have several here & would be daft not to make use of one, I guess that'll hold another 1/4 Litre or so.
I have no problem with extending the sump but now it's nice & oil tight, I don't realy want to introduce another area with the potential to leak at some later date.
The sump flange is still perfectly flat, it would be a real pitty to risk distorting it by extending the sump.
I was interested to note that the CVH engine only holds 3.5 litres of oil .... I understood that the CVH engine runs hotter than the Zetec engine !!??
