yes it is " in a fashion" so to speak ,

as this ensures that the column will be in the correct position/angle to miss any chassis rails ( TR9 & TR8 ) as it passes in between both of them,

easiest thing to do is get the steering column & place it into position, & thus you can determine the correct position of SW1, SW2 & SW3,
honestly, it makes it alot easier, as it takes away any "guess work" as you,ll see that the column doesn,t foul any rails etc.
