I'm finally back now, after finishing uni, going on holiday and starting my job at Triumph Motorcycles. I moved into my house on saturday and I have the garage all to myself and I can actually stand up properly in all parts which is definitely a good thing.

I have brought the majority of my car bits up, just need to bring the engine, pillar drill, gear box etc down.

However, my 1 big issue is the chassis. It is too wide to fit on my roof rack, and the roof rack has a too narrow spacing to line up with the bottom chassis members.

The engine, gearbox and pillar drill are the easy things to get down as I can fit them in the back of my car, so I am now trying to figure out a way of getting the chassis (and build table) the 200 miles to my new house.

I have considered hiring a van with a roof rack (roughly £60 + fuel to get it there (£60) and back and then the £45 fuel to get my car to and from there). So thats £165 for that option.

Then i've considered getting a tow bar fitted to my car and doing my B+E trailer licence, which works out at around £500 for test, lessons and tow bar. The army will be paying for me to get my C+E licence later on this year so I dont really want to spent £500 when I don't need to.

The other option is courier, which I haven't looked at prices but I can imagine it being rather expensive.

So does anyone else have an idea of how to transport my chassis down south?
