Lexan is a trade name as far as I'm aware but it is not just ordinary polycarbonate, its damned near indestructible which is why its used in bus stops etc. I was once asked to try and destroy a piece to demonstrate its toughness, it withstood 15 minutes of battering with a four pound lump hammer. it was badly deformed but didn't break.
