Ash & I were discussing the length of our propshafts the other night, & we were quite surprised that they are within 2mm of eachother,

So as a "guide"......if you measure from the rear diff flange to the rear edge of the gearbox housing , where the splined end of the prop goes into the gearbox....

my measurement is 625mm , & when my prop was made to measure by D&F they asked what was the total length to the gearbox oil seal inside the housing, which on mine is 17mm, so they supply a prop a little longer to ensure it goes beyond the oil seal.

So, my prop measurement is 642mm to the oil seal...
Ash,s prop measurement to oil seal is 644mm.

The measurement from the the diff flange to the rear edge of the gearbox housing is a good guide when using a type 9 gearbox. If you are concerned about the rubber plug that connects onto the reverse light switch you could always just solder the wires to the pins which would give a little more clearance to the tranny tunnel upright.

Hope this is of some help.

David....wow you really are cracking on with your build, nice one

cheers
