Is there actually any issue with having a Q plate?
From what I can tell, it's actually a lot less hassle getting a Q plate, but no real loss.
When it comes to selling, anyone who is capable of looking after all the paperwork required to register an age plate, should be able to look after documentation that proves the age of components in a Q plate, so there shouldn't be any loss in value there either.
Unless you wanted to fit a personalised plate afterwards, is there anything bad about the 'dreaded Q plate?'
I'm imagining it wouldn't affect insurance?
Just speculation, as I'm thinking about starting my build with the intention of Q plating it for ease
