Just opened the post this morning and received the attached letter from our GRP products supplier. Couldn't believe so checked it out and its all correct. If you cant read the letter it basically says that the EU has decided to increase duty by 43.6% on all imported fibreglass products from China, making the total duty 50.6% therefore adding 39% onto all our grp products.....
Apparently these increases are to favouritise European manufactures of which we don't have any, just distributors.
We've had a good long think and believe we can take the extra cost by buying our own weighing and mixing tools for mixing our own coloured gel coats, therefore only having to buy clear gel and the relevant pigment. Should save costs on the gel equivalent to the extra increase in material costs.
