hi Axle,

There,s no reason in my opinion that you couldn,t bolt it to the front of the hub,
BUT
You would need to reposition part WS3 further forward along part WS2 to accomodate the change of position of its mounting point,
If you didn,t then you will fowl the brake hose where it enters the caliper.

I hope this makes sense

added text............. when I say you would fowl the brake line, what I mean is .......the round tube that goes from the hub level upto the actual cycle wing would fowl the brake line, its already a tight fit, but if you weld WS3 further forward along WS2 then this would solve the clearance issue on the brake line.
