Personaly, I would say use the original bikes ECU if possible.

That's going to save £300 - £500 right from the outset.

Having said that, I have not had a lot of personal dealings with modern bike ECU's but imagine that they are not as complicated as car ones !!??

I guess it all boils down to if you want to use the engine on its stadard equipment ( Fueling etc )

Going slightly off track .... It never ceases to amaze me, just how much the Honda industrial engines cost

A few years back, I wanted to replace a FUBAR engine on a small cement mixer .... It was cheaper to actualy just go & buy a new mixer fitted with the same engine !!?? .... How the hell does that work

Bunged an electric motor on it & still going strong
