Hi Ricky,
The Birkin will not fit - much to small.
Yip, I had found the Locost guys have an upstairs attitude, especially if you had not bought a chassis from then. They will condemn any homebuild chassis and I actually challenged them with the quality of mine - Im a qualified boilermaker by trade - whereas theirs are welded by some goons
(you know our country Boet) who only cares about their wages and not the quality the produce...
I built a McSorley 442E chassis and if Im not mistaken, the front dimensions are very close to the Haynes.
Here are some dimension of the nosecone I made:
Bottom width: 440mm - outside dimesion
Top width: 650mm (measured across at top rail at front - where vertical meets horizontal line) on outside of cone
Bottom to top rail: 400mm - slope dimension
Max height of cone above top rail in centre 220mm
See if this will fit your car - the flares can easily be added to the cone if it fits.
Find a download for the McSorley plans and check the 442E with the Haynes for compatibility on top rails (beware the 442 is not the same as 442E), because Im also doing the scuttle and bonnet molds. Maybe we can make a plan to get you sorted out.
I must not write this, but if you need to have your car registered as a new vehicle, (no SAP, roadworthy, affirmative action crap etc) contact me as I have contacts.
