My advice - don't, go for hydraulic.

I originally had a mechanical one fitted and found that After some vigorous use of the brake pedal it had broken. They are really only good for use on the handbrake, can't take the repeated use of a brake pedal.

A hydraulic one can also be fitted in a place that's much easier to access for maintenance, and for Mr IVA man to see too. Fitting is easy, Just fit a t-piece into any line and make sure the switch is at the bottom - to prevent it becoming an air trap. Simples.
