Actually, RU8 for drum is horizontal, and for disc it is vertical. I think Talon makes this "in between" orientation of RU8 to avoid the problem explained above, and perhaps also (but I'm not sure of that) to use the same uprights for both drum and disc settings.
I ordered the uprights for drum brakes, and that is just what I thought when I received them... sh... I hope they are OK for drums, and as I don't have my brakes yet, I can't even try
But they should be OK as, as long as the bleeder is at the highest point, it works in any position.
