I'm running a Zetec 2.0 from a 1993 Mondeo with standard intake and ECU. I'm building a left hand drive roadster. You will have a hard time routing the steering shaft around the manifold (but it is doable), the access to your master cylinder will not be very simple, but otherwise it is not impossible.
Here's a pic of how much space you should expect:



My current problem is that the diameter of the throttle body flange is 70 mm, but the space between the flange and the bonnet is around 60 mm. So it's not very easy to fit the intake bend under the bonnet, and scoops don't normally extend there.
