Is this possible? Still trying to get my head round this pats thing but if I used engine, ecu, keys, transponder from the same car. Would that work or need aftermarket ecu and loom?
You need to determine whether your donor has pats, some early cars did and some didn't, my '93 RS did. Try to find a car that is non-pats, there are a few people who can de-pats if you've already got the car but you do need to be sure you have pats before de-patsing otherwise you'll ruin the ECU. Likewise don't mess about trying to make it work, if you've missed an item of the pats system (for example the LH headlight is not connected) then it'll lock the ECU and it has to be sent to Ford HQ for a reset.
Personally I would use bike carbs and megajolt as you can unlook more power that way, with the stock system you have the same power as the donor which for the 2.0L is way down on what you can get out of it.
