Exactly that. The escort rack in the perfect world of dialing out bump steer needs to be shorter< cant remember the exact amount> . That combined with the arms needing to be longer made me think sod it call the company that makes the quick racks and get them made the right length with the correct length arms. At least you end up with the correct rolled threads in the track rod ends not cut ones like with the extensions .They are working out a price.
Edit . he did explain that the racks go off for heat treatment after machining so mods need doing prior to that so its not a home chop job really.
