Personally i've never known of anyone going from bec to cec (accept Tilly on here), but I've heard of loads of people going the other way.

My car was corner weighted @ 510 kgs with a full tank of fuel. It has a reverse gearbox, standard sierra xr4x4 brakes all round, big heavy car battery and non lightweight wheels. With a bit of work I could easily get the weight under 500 kg.

Current project is fitting the head and pistons off a z1000 engine, taking capacity up to 954cc. Ive also found a homebrew way of advancing the ignition to make the most of higher octane fuel, should be looking @ about 160 bhp. And i bought 2 of these engines for under £800 !

I dont dislike the bec at all its merely an observation that people fall out of love with the bike engine after a while. Three guys locally have gone back to car engines, they seem to go pop quite easily in the car and the power seems to drop off considerably with a passenger on board. They dont set the world alight on any tracks round here but that could be down to the drivers.
Even the twin bike engined car below is nothing special round a track, in fact its not as quick as a caterham. Just me standing back and observing, I might get a drive of one and fall in love with the concept. There is certainly some fantastic engineering going into some of these cars and thats the bit that impresses me the most.

Edit. I will go out on a limb here and say the best 7 type car I have been in and driven is a mates 1600 ford kent engined westy with a pair of 40`s and a cam. Not the fastest that prize went to the rover powered westy belonging to another friend. The haynes will have a lot to live up to round here.
