Sorry Rob, the rubbing strips went to the scrappy
Junior didn't want them & I am fast running out of storage space as I still have another full car to strip down.
Don't think Junior wants those ones as they are the earlier type with the Silver piping.
Juniors car was a 1.6 Pinto Sapphire ( Azura ) Date of registration: 12/02/1993
The Engine, gearbox, fuel tank, ECU & ECU loom + engine loom came from the following doner.
Sirerra Sapphire GLSI ( Twinky engine ) no cat fitted.
First registered: 01/08/1992
The fuel pumps live feed wire in the boot is Black/Red, this Black/Red wire is also in the main loom multi connector in the rear slam panel of Juniors car.
There is a Black/Red wire in the engine bay bulk head ( In one of the 3 engine management muliti connectors )
This wire is present in the cars main loom ( Engine bay ) but is not picked up at the management side of the plug.
Tested the wire at the plug & there is no continuity at the other end in the boot ( This is assuming that this is the fuel pump feed wire !? )
The ECU has a Yellow relay protected buy a fuse ( I assume this is the fuel pump relay ) The heavy cables are Green/Black.
This is the wire that is now feeding the fuel pump as it is only live when the ignition is on.
Obviously not ideal to have the pump running at full tilt as soon as the ignition is turned on.
Would love to get the fuel system to prime as it should.
Car is running like a dream, a total transformation from that tired old 1.6 Pinto engine.
Got to sort out engine change with DVLA now, that'll probably be real fun.

That Reciprocating saw I bought recently certainly made quick work of the body shell, way better than a nasty old angry grinder.
Definitely removed any last traces of newness
