Fitter is the operative word, they only know how to fit bits. They are no longer time served engineers that can rebuild or repair engines and gearboxes they merely fit things.

There is Bob ,Keldine Auto's, over a hundred years of collective experience in repairs, engine rebuilds, head facing ,reboring etc etc .
Have a Stag in today,no quick fits here !

My mechanic who did the TR is only 40 odd so needed a little help,he did not think the box came out inside the car.

Did a refresher mot course a month ago and there was a "fitter " from previously mentioned outfit, what a clown .

The older builders on here will understand this,in time no one will understand how to fix older cars as there will be no one around to do it that has the knowledge to do the repairs, sad affair.

Most of them I've seen, wouldn't know a big end from their bell end, with out plugging in a lap top. I wouldn't trust them with my old petrol genny let alone my 69 Poncho coke bottle big block.
