Default Thickness of floor ?

Hi am going to weld a steel floor but not sure of thickess can any one advise

Personally im going to use 2mm and weld it in.

My floor is thick, it doesn't have a clue what day it is let alone what 2 and 2 are...makes me wonder sometimes it really does...

i'd say 2mm ali, or 1.6mm steel, but it upto you

I've a 2mm steel floor, mainly because I had the sheet just sitting there!!

mine is 2mm ali chequerplate - because it's what i had lying around.

I'm sure you are already aware of this, but isn't a 2mm steel floor going to be REALLY heavy?

Question ali grade?

Rather than start a new thread I thought i'd bump this one up.

My question - I'll be using 2mm thick Ali for my floor but the supplier gave me a choice of grades - what do i want?!!! 1050, 5083 - these numbers mean nothing to me....

5083 is much better. Try and get a decent hardened one as well, T25 or something.

Blackburns Metals down in Edenbridge say they would recomend and can supply me with a 2m*1m*2mm thick ali sheet of grade 5251-H22. Can anyone in the know say if this is what I want?! Cheers
