Default Teamtrain Saturn Race Car

After a hard day at the office and with the help of Spud and Handy and the addition of some awesome fabrication in ally from Chunky Mick,at the eleventh hour (closer to midnight)last night the Roadster I have built went into the transporter and headed off to Cadwell Park for its first race in the Northern sports series.

Unfortunately I could not get to go due to prior engagement, but recieved an update as to progress from Jim the owner and went through scrutineering first time and into qualifying with reasonable results considering minimal setup(few squirts up the street and and adjustments with bits of string).

Hopefully Spud and Andy get some decent pics or video and add it to this thread and I am glad that the first purpose built Roadster race car is finished and on the track so I can continue with my own.

Good luck to all concerned.

Well we have all finally done it.......

never had such a nerve racking day as yesterday, first time for the car on the track and first proper drive out. There were a few minor teething problems as you would expect, mainly a sticking throttle catching on the pedal stop mainly due to the top mounted throttle pedal used from the Ginetta slipping passed the pedal stop mounted low down on the box.

Weather was pants all day and first session out was very wet but James coped very well and after he has few track days will soon get to grips with the car. We've attached some more pics to the photostream below. Car still needs a lot more fine tuning, mainly ride height lowering a lot and front suspension tweaking. Graphics are also temporary, 13th hour, and will be fully stickered up for next time.

Well done to all concerned and it makes all the late nights and hard graft worth while.

Andrew.....

I will Mick, got your mobile number saved now - need a bit less wind though.

Car needs a lot of setting up, just ordered some shorter and slightly stiffer springs for it then its going on the rolling road, properly balanced and then 2 track sessions before Knockhill. Maybe a full Omex system depending on the rolling road results.

The sky is bright.....Andrew
