Smile Hard few weeks for me

The clutch recently packed up on Juniors Sierra.

We decided that it was not worth spending £90 odd on a new clutch kit as I was planning to change the 1.6 Pinto for the near completed 2.1 Pinto sitting in the workshop.

Giving the matter some thought, we got to thinking that the running cost of a 2.1 running a fast road cam & twin Webber 45's was going to be a no goer now that he drives a fair distance to work every day (Given the current cost of petrol ).

Simples I thought, why not drag the 2 litre twinky engine out of the scrap Sierra sitting on the drive.

Well that simple task has taken me over 3 weeks
Only been able to work on it an hour or Two most days.

Got the car back on the road yesterday.

Quite a straight forward job to do, I must admit, nearly gave up after hooking up the ECU & engine loom.
There was a total lack of action from the fuel pump, just didn't want to work at all.

Soon found out that the fuse box needed 2 additional relays, pump still wouldn't prime though.

Gave up looking for the fault in the end, the workshop manuals wiring diagrams are next to useless.
Ended up wiring up a new relay from a switched feed straight to the in tank pump.
Not ideal, I know but the car is now running real sweet.

Will add tracing that fault to my " To do one day " list.

RIP another old Sierra
