Default Mx5 gearbox mounting

I have just bought a mx5 engine and put it in my roadster. I have bolted the engine mounts in using the blocks as described in the book, although modified to be longer. But my problem is now how to support the gearbox. It has two mounting holes on the side but how can i use these to support it in place with out welding some strange shaped brakets in place? How has everybody else with mx5 engines mounted them into place?

If it is relevant its an mk2 1.6 'phoenix' engine
