![]() Seasons greetings to all forum members both old and new.
It's been a long, long time since my last posts on the forum, in fact a long time since my last visit. This last year has not been the best for me in respect of my health but finally I am on the mend again and am now at last able to spend some time in the workshop once again. I am pleased to find the forum thriving with lots of new members to aquaint myself with. A veritable mountain of posts to read, i'll be reading each and every one till I catch up though. ![]() I notice Chris is still on hand to give advice. I'd have thought he would have retired to live the high life on his royalty payments !!! . Life on the Locost-A-Del-Sol perhaps. ![]() Great to see that fabbyglass has done such a spendid job on the Roadster body parts. They are looking awesome. Also great to see that 3ge have greatly expanded their range of Roadster parts. I'll be needing both of your services in the coming months. ![]() Hoping to restart my build in the next few weeks. Yahoo. Seasons greetings to you all, Ronnie ![]() |

![]() I must admit, the older I get, the less festive I feel each year. (said he, 52 going on 90 )
![]() Yes I am glad it is all out of the way now. ![]() At least this year and for the first time ever, I have some pennies left for my build. To give my build a boost i'll give into temptation and buy some of the components that I am in urgent need of. I can't beleive I just said that. ![]() Buying some of the components will save me hours of work. this time could be better spent elsewhere. Ronnie ![]() |

![]() Hey Ronnie,
Welcome back. Just been outside to do a couple of jobs and it's bl**dy freezing, i think i need to put the central heating into the garage as well. It's a shame you never made it up to Exeter for the show at the start of November, we had a good time, Mark enjoyed himself ![]() Next time I'll get that badge made up for Chris ![]() Regards John

![]() Many thanks for the good wishes folks.
I am liking your blog Rich. If i wern't such a Techno moron, perhaps i could do my own. Funny, i can turn any old lumps of metal into something usefull. Ok with mechanics, electrics and have even been known to install the odd combi boiler or two. But when it comes to all things PC & software. I am a complete and utter moron. ![]() My build as I left it ?. Chassis is made, although i still have RP 1 & 2 to bend, weld on and finish the back end off. I have made the rear hub units. Have the bushes, coil overs, rack, joints etc. All the parts to get the chassis rolling. The engine, gearbox & diff have all been test fitted. No worries there. I am hoping to fabricate the wishbones next week. I had already made the lower front ones but had a senior moment when I used the wrong size tube. ![]() I have decided to remake those but i will be buying the wishbone plates from 3ge. There is no way I am going to mark and cut those out for a second time. The wishbone plates are a classic example of knowing when to buy a part rather than, make it your self. Yes I have the skill and the equipment but the time spent making them (loads) would have been better spent elsewhere. The same could said of the suspension brackets & rear hub plates. My advice is buy them and use the time elsewhere. I hope that over the coming months, i'll get the chance to meet some of my fellow local forum members. Les & fabbyglass spring to mind ![]() Thanks John. I was well and truley gutted being unable to attend Exeter this year. I had been planning to attend the entire event this year. I had a brilliant time at last years show. To be honest missing the show was almost as bad as not being able to spend any time on my build. Roll on next November i say. Well off to spend & hour catching up with all of the posts that I have yet to read. Ronnie ![]() Last edited by Bonzo : 27th December 2008 at 10:48 AM. Reason: More text |
