Default Weld finishing

Hi I wonder what is the best way to finish off my welds i know that some people may have finished them back to flat, and Where body panels are fitting I am sure this would work, but where they don't I was just going to leave them quite proud seems like grinding right back would be undermining them.what are people's thoughts sorry if this has been addressed previously
Thanks
DaveyB

I would only grind them back where you need to for panels etc. Any others I would just give a light clean over if you have any large lumps or bumps in them.

I find a flap wheel works well for dressing down welds. I use the flat type of flap wheel in an angle grinder, does the job and doesn't keep trying to throw the grinder skywards.

Just use a flap wheel in your grinder they are very good for this type of thing.
I use this type because they are free

Thanks for the reply and link know knew what I am looking for, I think my main concern is the noise of the grinder and upsetting the neighbours I,ll just have to do it in sort bursts.
