Painting
Hi all probably a basic question so bear with me. In terms of painting wishbones and the chassis what's the best course to take? my dad was saying an epoxy primer and then a metal paint but googling it all there are so many types with so many different product numbers etc that i have no idea what they are!
so to cut to the chase. how many coats what primer and what top coat? this is for chassis and wishbones and running gear i.e. painting the diff etc cheers guys! |

I plan on using epoxy mastic paint for the chassis. I've used it on other cars with good results. Ash G painted his chassis with epoxy mastic as well IIRC.

That's all I've used on my other cars, although I usually use a underseal type product afterwards to match with the original factory finish rather than have patches of different paints.
With sufficient layers it should be solid enough - this is the stuff I've used - http://www.rust.co.uk/epoxy-mastic.cfm HTH |

Is it OK to use epoxy mastic over red oxide? As the welding has progressed I have slapped red oxide over it to keep the rust at bay... need a top finish now.
