I've Got One!!!!
I just picked up my donor, a 1992 (J) Sierra etate 2.0 DOHC Ghia
It's got rear discs, not sure if it has abs (haven't paid that much attention to it yet ) But unfortunately it has a whining comming from ther back end that increases with speed, i'm hoping its a wheel bearing and not the diff, it sounds a bit like your following a tractor if your not in the car |

I can't recal anyone ever killing a diff on a stock car.
It will have ABS. should yeild some useful spares for us sierra boys. (does it have a trip computer?) TT

Well done on finding a donor James
Looks quite a tidy motor too As TT said, the Sierra diff is quite robust, I have only ever changed 1, that was on a former Taxi that was on it's 3rd time round the clock. When it was stripped, there was no signs of heavy wear & probably only needed a bearing or two. At that time it was no problem finding a good used diff, so it was swapped just to be rid of the anoying whine

It is fairly good, only a slight bubble of rust on one rear arch, its got an mot till january. and a stamped up service history to 130k (it's done 150k)
Almost seems a shame to strip it!!!! all bits i don't need are for sale |
