Cp3 and 4
Do people make the top shock and roll bar plates cp3and4 out of 3 mm plate as per the book. Seems a bit light to me

Hi,
Yes, I did mine in 3mm. And I don't remember having heard about someone doing them thicker. CP3 and CP4 are braced by the 3 walls of the "box" (CP5,6,7), so I guess that make them very stiff. Though, for the roll bar fitting points, I welded M10 nuts instead of M8. I use M10 grade 12 bolts + nylock lock-nuts.

12.9 domed/ hex cap screws are good for roll bar plates,look better too.

Cost : Little as possible. Thanks : To those who by their generosity my build has progressed. Its a handmade sports car not a flaming kit car !!! If at first you dont succeed,avoid skydiving... No parachute require to freefall,only if you want to do it twice. |
