reduce emissions

One of the points i have just failed on the IVA is for having high CO2 readings. I have a mx5 engine and a cat before the back box. Can anyone advise how i can bring my emissions down further? The IVA man mentioned some people, especially with motorbike engines are using a smart controller to control the emission output?

Hi is it the std ecu and induction side? As I had my mx5 with sports cat standard ecu and std plenum plus supercharger and it was spot on
Do you have the egr takeoff on your ex manifold going to the egr valve

I have a JDM loom hence there is no egr, i have blanked it off. shall i maybe look to try wiring it into the loom, if it can be done?

What ecu are you using ? The egr valve is there to help the emissions if yo have a programmable ecu then a remap session not for power but just to do the co2 to get you through iva then remap proper after if your going to end up with a Q reg then it would be an easy way to do it

The ECU and loom is from an import hence it doesnt have an egr valve connector as part of the loom. The engine does have and egr valve though hence i will try and wire it into the circuit if its possible without it being controlled by the ecu.
Failing that i guess i can ask my local garage if they can help remapping it...

Just checked and there is no connector in the loom for the egr valve. Any ideas how i can wire it into the loom but not controlled by the ecu?
