Default Clutch Cable + Handbrake Cable Help

I have a couple of questions on fitting my clutch and handbrake cables.

My clutch cable looks simple enough but from this thread:

http://www.haynes.co.uk/forums/showt...t=clutch+cable

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, as my setup looks like this:

Do people remove the rubber bung and washer on the end that goes into the pedal box? I also think that I will be changing the pedal box so that the clutch cable boss is at 90 degrees to the back and not angled like it is currently, then the cable will install underneath my rear brake line.

Also for my handbrake cable I have fitted one side of the cable to the drum and will be pulling the remaining cable through the other drum and cutting it to the correct length and fitting a solderless nipple. I just want to make sure I have the cable correctly installed before I do this, my setup looks like the following, is this right?

Your clutch cable is slightly wrong,it needs to have one nut either side of the lug that it passes through on the bellhousing.

Ozzy are you sure? I originally thought this was the case but it is not possible to take the nuts off of the cable as the cable end is too big. Also it is mentioned in the following thread (http://www.haynes.co.uk/forums/showt...t=clutch+cable) that both nuts remain on the engine side of things (I assume one is a lock nut to prevent the other from moving)

Both nuts should be on the engine side, one is the tensioner, the other the lock nut for the tensioner nut.

The handbrake set up looks right to me . Make sure you have a bit of the outer cable showing on the engine side of the adjustable nut. Connect one side and pull the cable through and the measure and fit the nipple to the other side. You should then have enough adjustment to tighten it up.

My clutch cable is similar but I've twisted it so it's vertical and it lines up a bit better. I'm going to fit a wire holder to the engine mount.

Thanks for the help, I have now knocked off the angled tube on the back of the pedal box for the clutch cable, removed the rubber bung/plastic cap and I just drilled out a M12 nyloc to 13mm which gives a really nice fit for the clutch cable so it will stay nice and straight when coming out of then pedal box, it will also mean it will run under the brake line so should give a nice tidy solution. I should have this completed in the next few days and then I can finish fitting my handbrake cable with the above advice.

Cheers
