Earth cable on fuel sender ?
Hello,
Do you guys know if one of these 3 cables from the fuel sender is an earth ? IMG_5092.JPG I'm making a new closure plate in aluminium for my aluminium tank, and I am re-using the original sender from the Sierra. But the new fuel proof electric connections I have are designed for 2 cables only. As I will have an earth connection on the closure plate (there was one on the original closure plate of the Sierra's tank), if one of the 3 cables of the sender is an earth, I can connect it directly to my earth plug, under the plate (inside the tank), and I won't need to go through the plate. So my fuel proof electric connections will receive the 2 other cables. I thought the white cable might be an earth? Thanks in advance for your answers.

If nobody responds before tonight I will study the bible.
IIRC one pin is the guage, one the low level switch for cars with the fuel light and computer and the other must be either earth or live supply. TT

Thank you very much for the replies.
Unfortunately, the colours of the wires described in the thread on Locostbuilders don't match with mine. But anyway, if they say the sender is earthed by the body, it means that the 3 wires have a utility, no? That is what I was afraid of... However, they say one goes to the "fuel computer". what is that? There was not such a thing on my Sierra, and perhaps it is the one I can skip? Anyway, just to make sure, TT, if you happen to open your "bible", I'm still interested in knowing the function of each cable. Thanks again.
