Default Engine bonnet clearence

Morning all

Just got my bonnet and sat it on my chassis, I was expecting my carb to touch, but my oil filler cap is too!

Now I've looked at more finished Haynes, I've noticed there's not many people with air intakes coming through the bonnet. I was fully expecting to have a k&n popping through, I kind of like it.

Anyone else had this before? I have no air scoop don't know if that makes any odds.

Cheers Will

My CVH has a filter out the top. Although if the new VOSA regs come in the engine will have to be replaced with something else.

Are you using a Pinto? I am expecting to have use a different rocker cover where the oil filler neck has been relocated to the back and angled backwards...

I expect a lot of people are either using injection engines or have carbs/throttle bodies that come out of the block at 90 degrees and therefore the cut out for the air filter is only seen from one side...
