Default Seat mounting

I have my seats and want to weld in the mounting points. The drivers side has a runner fitted the passenger side will be fixed.
Would 3mm x 40mm steel be strong enough to mount them to?
They'll be bolted through from the underside with an oversize washer.

I've done roughly the same, 3x 50 strip that the runners are mounted to, floor is 3mm alu under that. Plenty strong enough I am sure.
