Wiper wiring help needed
I run into problems trying to sort out the wiper wiring and desperately need help.
I have a new wiper motor for a Toyota Hilux truck and new wiper/lighting stalk for a Toyota Corolla (late 90's early 2000 model). I tinkered with the wiper motor and found low and high speed wires, altough it goes faster on both speeds when reversing the wires :?: I can probably sort the wiring out to have a two speed affair but the motor would not park in its designated stop area. How do I wire it correctly from the stalk to the wiper motor ignoring the relays for the moment so it will have both low and high speed and will park correctly? Control stalk wiring are the following dicounting the two thinner washer wires; 1. Blue with green stripe 2. Blue with white stripe 3. Blue with red stripe 4. Blue with black stripe The wiper motor has the following wires; 1. Blue with white stripe 2. Blue with red stripe 3. Blue 4. Yellow 5. Black (I assume this will be an earth/negative wire) Can anyone help? Thanks. |

Thanks for the pointers and after some experimenting and peeking into the gearbox and stalk contacts, I got it sorted out finally and works like a charm.
Even the mist funtion park as it should. Here are the connections should someone else use the same Toyota wiper motor and Corolla stalkswitch combination. 1. Motor blue wire - 12V positive 2. Motor black wire - negative (earth) also connected to the stalk feed - blue with white stripe wire. 3. Motor yellow wire is park wire connected to the stalk blue with red stripe wire. 4. Motor blue with red stripe wire is slow speed connected to the stalk blue with black stripe wire. 5. Motor blue with white stripe wire is fast speed and connected to the stalk blue with green wire. Hope this can be helpful to some... |
